Evaluation Model
Qualifying Test (Net Speed >= 35 WPM English / 30 WPM Hindi · 15 Minutes Duration)
AIIMS CRE skill tests evaluate typing performance over a standard 15-minute test duration based on 5 keystrokes per word. Each Full Mistake (omissions, substitutions, spelling errors, additions) deducts 50 keystrokes (10 words), while each Half Mistake (spacing, punctuation, capitalization) deducts 25 keystrokes (5 words). Your final Net WPM must meet or exceed 35 WPM (English) or 30 WPM (Hindi). In addition, Note 2 of AIIMS Notice No. 17/2025 mandates that candidates who type less than the minimum required strokes (2,625 strokes for 35 WPM) are rejected for 'Insufficient Attempt'. Accuracy is calculated as (Net Speed / Gross Speed) * 100 and serves as the official tie-breaker for merit ranking.
As per AIIMS Examination Section Notice No. 17/2025, the standard duration for all AIIMS CRE typing skill tests is 15 minutes (with 20 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates).
Yes, backspace and arrow navigation keys are fully enabled throughout the test session.
As per Notice No. 17/2025 Section V, when two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks in the CBT, Tie-Breaker Criterion (v) gives priority to the candidate with higher typing accuracy percentage: (Net Speed / Gross Speed) * 100.
The English typing test is conducted on standard physical desktop keyboards using standard QWERTY layout.
