Evaluation Model
Qualifying Test (35 Net WPM English / 30 WPM Hindi · Disabled Backspace · 5% Free Buffer + 10-Word Penalty)
The CISF Head Constable Ministerial typing test is conducted for 10 minutes with a qualifying benchmark of 35 Net WPM in English (or 30 WPM in Hindi). Backspace and cursor navigation are strictly disabled. Evaluation follows a strict word comparison standard without half-mistake leniency. Mistakes up to 5% of total gross words typed are exempted as a free buffer. For every additional mistake beyond 5%, 10 words (50 key depressions) are deducted from gross words typed, which reduces final net speed by 1.0 Net WPM per excess error over the 10-minute duration.
No. Backspace is completely disabled during the CISF HCM examination. Every keystroke typed is permanently registered.
You receive a 5% error allowance with zero penalty. For every mistake beyond the 5% threshold, 10 words (50 strokes) are deducted from your total words typed.
No. Paramilitary computerized typing software evaluates each mistyped word as 1 full mistake. There is no 50% discount for minor typos or capitalization mismatches.
