Evaluation Model
Qualifying Test: Net Speed = Gross Speed − (Mistakes ÷ 5) (Min 30.00 Net WPM)
Under Haryana Government service rules, HSSC Clerks must qualify the State Eligibility Test in Computer Appreciation and Applications (SETC) conducted by HARTRON. Part-II of SETC is a 5-minute typing speed test on a computer. Speed is evaluated using 5 strokes per word. Each mistake reduces your Net Speed by (Mistakes ÷ 5). Candidates qualify as long as their final Net Speed is 30.00 WPM (English) or 25.00 WPM (Hindi).
The test duration is 5 minutes. The qualifying speed is 30.00 Net WPM in English (or 25.00 Net WPM in Hindi). Passing in at least one chosen language is mandatory.
Your total mistakes are divided by 5 and deducted directly from your Gross Speed: Net Speed = Gross Speed − (Mistakes ÷ 5). For example, 10 mistakes deduct 2.00 WPM from your gross speed.
Yes, backspace is unrestricted during the 5-minute session, permitting candidates to edit and correct typos before time expires.
No, there is no separate 5% or 8% error rate ceiling. As long as your final Net Speed after subtracting (Mistakes ÷ 5) is 30.00 WPM or higher, you qualify.
